As my very first post, I would like to give a background information about my most recent recital and share some of the pictures taken by Benedict Sin!
Aiming to do my best and leave a good taste about my last recital before leaving Boston took a lot of mental and physical preparation. When it was time to perform, I immersed myself in the moment and let the music happen. It was very energizing to have the audience of my dear friends and colleagues support me.
Repertoire choice was a challenge. I intended to reflect my passion in new music while coloring the program with some German Baroque and French Impressionism. The recital program included works by Georges Enesco, Robert Muczynski, Matthew Weaver, Johann Sebastian Bach, Derek Bermel, my dear friend Yunus Gencer (world premiere), and Andre Jolivet. It was a privilege to have the amazing pianist Deborah Emery, and my trio partners, Katsuya Yuasa and Shih-man Weng perform in it as well!
It was a very touching day for me, especially while collaborating with such incredible musicians. I am very looking forward to performing with them again in the near future!
